Please read these Terms of Service carefully before scheduling an appointment or authorizing any vehicle repair or maintenance work. By scheduling an appointment, submitting a service request through our website, calling our shop, or bringing your vehicle to Ladson Auto Repair Shop for service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
These Terms of Service ("Terms," "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer," "you," "your") and Ladson Auto Repair Shop ("Company," "we," "us," "our"), an automotive repair and maintenance business operating at:
Ladson Auto Repair Shop provides automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic services for passenger cars, light trucks, and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) of all makes and models. Our services include, but are not limited to:
We reserve the right to decline any service request that falls outside our capabilities, that involves vehicles beyond our equipment capacity, or that we determine cannot be performed safely at our facility.
Appointments may be scheduled by phone at (843) 494-9179, through our website's online scheduling form, or by visiting our shop in person. Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee a specific completion time. Repair timelines depend on diagnostic findings, parts availability, and shop workload.
By scheduling an appointment and presenting your vehicle for service, you represent and warrant that:
When scheduling an appointment β whether online, by phone, or in person β you will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Proceeding with the appointment constitutes your acceptance of both documents.
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer your time slot to another customer. Repeated no-shows without notice may result in a requirement for a deposit to secure future appointments.
Certain services require a diagnostic evaluation before a repair estimate can be provided. Diagnostic fees, if applicable, will be communicated to you before any diagnostic work begins. In many cases, the diagnostic fee is applied toward the total repair cost if you authorize the repair.
In accordance with South Carolina consumer protection practices, we will provide you with a written or verbal estimate of repair costs before performing any work beyond the initial diagnostic assessment. The estimate will include:
No repair work will be performed without your explicit authorization. You may authorize repairs verbally (in person or by phone), in writing, or by text message. We will document the method and time of your authorization in your service record.
During the course of an authorized repair, our technicians may discover additional issues that were not apparent during the initial inspection. If additional repairs are needed that exceed the original estimate by more than 10% or $100 (whichever is greater), we will:
We will never perform unauthorized repairs or charge you for work you did not approve.
You have the right to decline any recommended repair. If you decline a repair, we will reassemble your vehicle to a safe, drivable condition (if possible) and may charge for diagnostic time and/or disassembly/reassembly labor already performed. These charges will be communicated to you before you make your decision.
Ladson Auto Repair Shop operates in full compliance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, including the South Carolina Unfair Trade Practices Act (SC Code Title 39, Chapter 5) and all applicable consumer protection regulations governing automotive repair businesses.
Under South Carolina law and our company policy, you have the following rights:
Upon your request at the time of service authorization, we will set aside replaced parts for your inspection. Certain parts (such as brake cores, alternators, starters, and other "core exchange" items) may need to be returned to the parts supplier. In such cases, we will inform you and, if possible, show you the part before it is returned.
All prices quoted are in United States Dollars (USD). Labor rates are based on standard industry flat-rate times or actual time, depending on the service. Parts are priced at our standard retail markup. All applicable South Carolina state and local sales taxes will be added to the final invoice.
Price Estimates: All prices shown on our website, in quotes, and during the booking process are approximate estimates only. Final pricing depends on your specific vehicle make and model, the quality of parts and materials selected (OEM vs. aftermarket), fluids required, labor complexity, and the actual condition of your vehicle upon inspection. We will always provide a detailed, itemized invoice before collecting payment.
Payment in full is due upon completion of services and before the vehicle is released. We accept the following payment methods:
We do not accept personal checks unless pre-approved by management.
Pursuant to South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 29, Chapter 15 (Mechanic's Liens) and Title 29, Chapter 16 (Liens on Personal Property), Ladson Auto Repair Shop has the legal right to retain possession of your vehicle until all authorized repair charges are paid in full. If payment is not received within a reasonable time, we may exercise our lien rights in accordance with South Carolina law, which may include the sale of the vehicle to satisfy the outstanding debt after proper notice is provided.
If you are unable to pay upon completion, please contact us immediately to discuss arrangements. Vehicles not picked up and paid for within 30 days of completed service will be subject to storage fees (see Section 9) and may be subject to mechanic's lien proceedings under SC law.
Unless otherwise specified and agreed upon, we use quality aftermarket parts (OE-equivalent or better) for most repairs. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and premium/performance parts are available upon request and may affect the repair cost.
We generally discourage the use of customer-supplied parts due to quality control concerns. However, if we agree to install customer-supplied parts:
In some cases, a used or remanufactured part may be recommended as a cost-effective alternative to a new part (e.g., remanufactured alternators, starters, or transmissions). We will always disclose when a part is used or remanufactured and obtain your approval before installation.
Ladson Auto Repair Shop provides a 12,000 miles or 1 year warranty on labor (whichever comes first) for all repairs performed at our facility, unless otherwise specified for a particular service. This means that if a repair we performed fails due to workmanship error within the warranty period, we will re-perform the repair at no additional labor charge.
Parts installed by Ladson Auto Repair Shop carry the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty periods vary by part and manufacturer (typically 12 months to lifetime, depending on the component). We will inform you of the specific parts warranty applicable to your repair at the time of service.
Our warranty does not cover:
To make a warranty claim, contact us at (843) 494-9179 and describe the issue. Bring your vehicle to our shop at 3322 Ladson Rd, Ladson, SC for inspection. You must present your original repair invoice. We will evaluate the concern and, if covered under warranty, perform the corrective work at no charge.
There is no charge for vehicle storage while your vehicle is actively being repaired or awaiting parts for an authorized repair, for a reasonable period not to exceed 14 calendar days from completion notification.
Once you have been notified that your vehicle is ready for pickup, you have 3 business days to retrieve your vehicle at no additional charge. After 3 business days, a storage fee of $25.00 per calendar day will apply.
In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 56, Chapter 5, Article 35 (Abandoned Vehicles), any vehicle left at our facility for more than 30 calendar days after completion notification without payment and without communication from the owner may be deemed abandoned. We will follow all legally required notice procedures under SC law before taking further action, which may include reporting the vehicle to the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) and/or initiating mechanic's lien proceedings to recover unpaid charges.
By using our services, you agree to:
To the maximum extent permitted by South Carolina law, Ladson Auto Repair Shop's total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific service or repair that is the subject of the claim.
In no event shall Ladson Auto Repair Shop be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of use of the vehicle, rental car costs, lost wages, lost business opportunities, or emotional distress, regardless of the cause of action or theory of liability.
We are not liable for vehicle breakdowns, failures, or malfunctions caused by pre-existing conditions that were not part of the repair we performed. Automotive systems are interconnected, and addressing one issue does not guarantee the proper function of related but unrepaired systems.
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, hurricanes, severe storms, floods, pandemics, government orders, supply chain disruptions, or parts unavailability.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ladson Auto Repair Shop, its owners, employees, technicians, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
We value our customer relationships and strive to resolve any concerns promptly and fairly. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us directly at (843) 494-9179.
If informal resolution is not successful, either party may request non-binding mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Dorchester County or Berkeley County, South Carolina. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally between the parties.
Any legal action arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Dorchester County, South Carolina, or the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, Charleston Division. Both parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.
